Since the end of the last century, we have been observing and monitoring the whales that come to feed in this favorite spot in the Strait of Magellan. We are privileged to have researched, enjoyed, and shared this place for so many years.

As a team, we have designed this experience, which has been highly successful for a long time. Navigating the Strait is already an experience, and it becomes even more enriching when you sail around Cape Froward, the point marking the beginning of the American continent. The Fuegian Archipelago appears in its splendor, and its intricate fjords and channels are home to rich biodiversity: penguins, albatrosses, petrels, sea lions, dolphins, whales, and much more.

We invite you to experience this journey with us, waking up in the middle of the Strait in front of the majestic whales feeding within view of our camp.

*The island's capacity is for 10 passengers in shared two-person domes. Starting with the 11th passenger, overnight stays are provided on the Estoa vessel. If you choose the four-person cabins, we will offer a discount of 10% on the second payment. If you prefer the more private double cabins, the rate remains at USD 1,850 per person. If you prefer a single-person double cabin, you must pay the total for two passengers, USD 3,700.

Cetacean and seabird watching in the Strait of Magellan

Between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m., we will pick up passengers from their accommodations and head to the boarding point: Punta Carrera, 50 km south of Punta Arenas.
The navigation to the Eco Camp will take approximately 8 hours as we sail through the famous Strait of Magellan, which has inspired countless stories and myths.
We will arrive at Carlos III Island in the afternoon, where we will have time to have our first glimpses of the humpback whales that come to feed in this beautiful place.

Listening to the blowing of the cetaceans during the night and watching the sunrise from the camp with the whales' tails is exciting. If the sky accompanies us with its characteristic colors, the scenery could be even better.
The day will be dedicated to whale watching, touring the MP and its surroundings to better understand this territory where marine life abounds and beauty is part of the landscape. We will travel through the Bárbara Channel and visit the ice fields of Santa Inés Island, part of the Park. National Kawesqar. Albatrosses and petrels will surely accompany us throughout the day, and we will also visit colonies of sea lions and cormorants.

After a hearty and peaceful breakfast, we will return to Punta Arenas, traversing the Strait of Magellan. We will make our final cetacean spotting before leaving the Park and then head to see a colony of Magellanic penguins.
The navigation will head east towards the famous Cape Froward, marking the start/end of the American continent. We will sail around it and head north towards Punta Arenas. Along the way, we will make various spotting and pass by several historical sites of past significance.
Upon arrival at Punta Carrera, our van will be waiting to take each passenger back to their accommodations. We expect to arrive in Punta Arenas at around 7:00 PM.
